<abstract>Color aerial photography was collected April 25, 2002 in stereo with 60 percent forward overlap from an altitude of 3,600 feet above the mean terrain (AMT). The photography was scanned at a resolution of 14 microns (approximately 0.33 feet per pixel.) Imagery was orthorectified using 1"=100' DTM data collected from the same photography. Airborne GPS data were used in combination with ground surveyed points to control the aerial photography.</abstract>
<purpose>The orthophotos will be used for scientific research, planning, and production of GIS products.</purpose>

<attraccr>Orthophotos were created from the aerial photography using 1"=100' DTM data and photo triangulation data. The X, Y, Z, omega, phi, and kappa for each photograph were calculated by photo triangulation methods using a Kern DSR 11 analytical stereo plotter. A ground control network of 12 targeted points was established. The control was tied to the Wyoming State Plane East Central Zone NAD83, NAVD88 U.S. Survey Feet coordinate system. Airborne GPS data were collected during the photography mission for each exposure station. The GPS event is at the photo-center of each exposure. Each exposure will have the least amount of error near the nadir location. After each photo exposure was orthorectified it was mosaiced into a regional database. Seamlines were selected based on tone balance, terrain, and linear features. Final image tiles were clipped from the regional database resulting in overlapping quarter section format sheets.</attraccr>

Quality Control Procedures:
Film was kept in airtight containers prior to scanning. Both the base and emulsion sides of the film were cleaned using a tacky roller system prior to scanning. Tonal adjustment was achieved by visually matching the tone, contrast, and brightness to the original film. Each scanned image was checked computationally for missing data. Quality Control Procedures for orthophoto production: After individual orthophotos were mosaiced into a regional database, the resulting orthophoto composite was visually inspected for tone balance and image distortion. In areas of image distortion, more suitable orthophoto imagery was inserted, when possible. Digitized breakline vectors were superimposed on the orthphoto mosaic and visually inspected for accuracy and consistency.
